To become a heavy goods vehicle (HGV) driver you need to:
- Have a full car licence
- Be over 18
- Get a professional driving qualification called the Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC)
You must have the full Driver CPC if you drive an HGV, as the main part of your job.
Apply for a Provisional licence and complete a medical
There are 5 tests that make up the full Driver CPC. Modules 1, 2, 3a, 3b, 4
We can provide training in the Northwest area to help you gain your HGV licence.
